IPV6 and the Internet of Things

IPV6 aka IP "next generation" introduces many more IP addresses than it's predecessor IPV4. The urgent need for IPV6 was reduced by the success with which NAT was implemented by all ISPs, however, it is IPV6's dramatic increase in IP addresses that enabled the concept of every office/household device can be online (with its own IP address) or the Internet of Things (IoT).
